Candy challenge!

The candy challenge held in September brought forth new bakers to ICC. Magda with some tasty Caramel Cream Cupcakes and Katie with her orange Candy Corn Cupcakes. The winners of the night were Cat's Snicker's Cupcakes for best taste

and Melissa's Candy Dot Cupcakes for presentation.

Savory yumminess!

The savory challenge had a nice turnout of cupcake enthusiasts. I'm happy with the response Iron Cupcake: Chicago is getting from the locals. I think we might have groupies...ha ha ha. We had nine entries of savory goodness to sample.

Pancake and Bacon Cupcakes were one of my two entries.

Melissa, who is one of our veteran bakers, took the gold. Her Pumpkin Sage Ravioli Cupcakes was everyone's favorite for taste and presentation.

Pretty in pink!

Adorable girly girl cake we did over the weekend. It was delivered to The Conrad Downtown Chicago. The customer called me and said, "Everyone loved it".

Cute purse and pearl necklace adorned the top of this pretty in pink cake.

Tropical challenge winners!

For Iron Cupcake:Chicago's second challenge, I did things a bit different. Everyone in attendance was able to judge and VOTE for their favorite "cuppie". Two grand prize winners, one for taste and the other for presentation.

This month's tropical challenge entries included, Mango Cupcakes and Guava Cupcakes by yours truly.

Passionate Mango Treasure Cupcakes by Jen. Mango Coconut Cupcakes by Melissa, one of two entries. Mai Tai Cupcakes by Kristin, Rice N Bean Cupcakes brought by Heather and her cute sous chef. And the most interesting cupcake of the night, Jamaican Jerk created by Nicole, citrus challenge winner.

The winner for best presentation was Melissa with her Chocolate Passion Fruit Cupcakes.

Simply beautiful and fun!

Booze and cupcakes go GREAT together!

On Monday we drove up to Wisconsin to check out Iron Cupcake Milwaukee. 31 cupcake entries and lots of booze. I was super impressed by all the bakers and their cupcake creations. Sandy, Chef Jeff and volunteers did an amazing job in hosting the biggest challenge ever! I was thrilled to be part of such an awesome event.

Ruthie was the guest of honor. Her cupcake hat and apron were a killer. Check out Ruthie's Shop cute stuff!

The hubby, the girlie's and I had a great time. We hope to be back... SOON!

1st Iron Cupcake Chicago.. Success!

Wow.. I have to say that Chicago's got some awesome bakers. They brought their A game with the most amazing citrus cupcakes ever. Judges Bridget Houlihan, Tammy Green from Chicago Bites and Veronica Macari had the fun of choosing a winner. In a unanimous decision Nicole won grand prize with her Red Ruby Avocado Cupcakes!

In second place Tracy with her Blood Orange Cupcakes, one out of two entries. Third place went to Heather her entry Dark-Orange Cupcakes. Congratulations to all the winners!

Back from Arizona!

My family and I had a super fun time last weekend. Cousin Gladys and Ted tied the knot. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception just gorgeous. However, I wasn't able to check out Sprinkles in Scottsdale maybe in my next visit.
