This 8-inch cake made from chocolate or vanilla includes one of four mouth watering fillings, vanilla, chocolate, raspberry, or strawberry mousse. The cake will be covered in delicious buttercream frosting and beautifully decorated with one of five dazzling fondant designs. For an additional fee, we can customize your cake for any special occasion, such as birthdays, baby showers, or anniversaries.

Johnny Cupcakes in Chitown

Grilled cheese anyone! Last Saturday Johnny Cupcakes said, "thanks" to his Chicago online customer with a grilled cheese party. We all gathered outside of 44th Ward Dinner Party (a bit chilly that night... brrr) and awaited to meet Johnny Cupcakes.

Once inside we all enjoyed grilled cheese's, got to meet JC and took pictures.

Not only did I meet JC, but also The Milwaukee Cupcake Queen. Check out her blog, No One Puts Cupcake in a Corner. We had a super fun time... Sandy I'll see you on your next visit to the Chi.

A Bit of History About Beautiful Cakes

We are a little cake shop located in the neighborhood of Jefferson Park, Chicago. Beautiful Cakes formerly named Cake by Colleen was established during the late 80's by a former Wilton cake instructor/sales rep (bits of info I gathered). During the early years, Cake by Colleen catered the most delicious cakes for local hotels, restaurants and celebrities.

Oprah Winfrey, Jay Leno and Ivana Trump have enjoyed our beautiful creations.

Oprah celebrated Stedman's birthday with a cake from Cake by Colleen in 1996.

Jay Leno visited Chicago in 2003.

Beautiful Cakes has continued the tradition of making "yummy" cakes for all occasions, but added to the menu "cupcakes". Cupcakes are all the rave. So, why not add them to the menu? We included flavors like Turtle, Peanut Butter, Cookies n Cream, Red Velvet and Sundae. Also, seasonal cupcakes flavors are added according to the season.

Our cupcakes are truly delicious, but the most amazing thing about them is the price. Walk-in customers can enjoy them for just $1.25. Yeap, that's right! These are though economic time and everyone is looking to stretch their dollars.

Custom decorated cupcakes range from $1.50 to $4.00, still a great value for a beautiful decorated cupcake.

We love to see our customer's reaction to their cake and hope for many years to come.
